What Do You Keep By Your Bed?

It’s true! What you keep at your bedside, does affect you while you sleep. The objects may be a book, a time keeper, or cute little keep sakes. What ever it is, it might be negatively or positively affecting your sleep and well-being.

I had my suspicions that this might be true, but now I am sure. Since reading Maria Kondo’s Book, The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying Up. She explains that all objects have and hold energy. Mostly the energy is infused with the purpose of the object like a clock might to keep time, be steady and reliable. But, if you place negative thoughts about the clock for always waking you up when you are still sleepy or for beeping too loudly. Then you will inertly charge the clock with negative energy which will continuously influence you when you are around it.

Feng Shui reminds us how to arrange the energy in your bedroom for optimal flow and your nightstand is no exception. Maria Kondo reiterates what Feng Shui teaches us. Declutter your space and you declutter your mind and in this case your energy too.

For two weeks I kept my SFT Lexicon book on my nightstand. During those weeks my dreams were busy, filled with turmoil, and I woke up tired. Jen Ward’s book is about improving your life; past and present. Removing old baggage and energy from your existence to be free from pain. The purpose of this book is a liberating one, but also comes with hard work and dealing with stagnant energy.

My Awe Moment

Once I became smart about the effects on my sleep, I moved it and felt the positive changes the next morning. I felt rested and energized. I was singing silly songs again and playing with my kids. Also, I felt creative again.

When I was reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, I left it on my nightstand every so often too. I was amazed by the results. Even though I was only a few chapters into the book, I felt the urge to address my attachment to things. It felt wonderful to release past emotional attachments to objects that don’t currently spark joy.

Learning through osmosis sounds unbelievable, but it is true to an extent. Objects can influence your energy while you sleep, as long as you are a vibrational march for the information or willing to accept the information into your belief system.

I encourage you to give it a try. See how you feel and how you sleep. Keep a log of what works and what doesn’t. At least, take a look at your nightstand and remove all objects with heavy or negative emotions attached to them. Choose happiness, one object at a time.
