Earth, Water, Air and Fire

The Majority of the information below is from Samprapti: 6 Steps of Disease. I believe this will help us understand more about our Astrological signs and how they affect us. Not only our signs but the signs of the people around us can be contributing too much of one element or not enough to be balanced. Getting a birth chart can be very useful.

The four elements on the physical plane.

  • Earth: animal instincts, grounding, foundation.
  • Water: emotion, intuition, going with the flow of life.
  • Air: intellect, mental intention, connection to life force.
  • Fire: willpower, inner strength, transformation through action.

Emotions corresponding to our physical nature.

  • Earth: depression, vitality.
  • Water: sadness, joy.
  • Air: fear, love.
  • Fire: anger, passion.

Master the Elements:

  • Air: balanced between Fire and Water and liberates the mind from Earth. Best way to work with Air is through breathing.
  • Fire: balance fiery tempers with Air and Water. Burn incense or stare into a flame to calm the body and mind.
  • Water: balance through Tai chi or yoga. Learn about the yin-yang expression of water.
  • Earth: balance with laying face down on Earth and unburden yourself. Visualize shape-shifting into different animals.

Fifth Element

Ether or Spirit: balance all four elements and your soul will embody you and enlighten you.

How this relates to relationships:

Depending on your Sun and Moon sign from your birth chart, you might need to balance with other personalities. For me, I have my Sun and Moon both in Fire which needs I am double the Fire trouble. And all my children are either Water or Air signs, to cool me down and level me off. If I was looking for a great business partner or life partner, I might want to look into Water and Air signs as well. Or at least see what my partner’s Sun and Moon signs are, for best compatibility.
